September 8, 2013

hey mom!

i`m glad to hear that all the cousins are doing well. i`ve expressed it before i`m sure, but it`ll be fun to really keep up with what`s going on with them when i actually have time to do so. as far as facebook and ipads go here, i`m pretty sure that`ll never happen haha. the missionaries are just too disobedient and no one could be walking around with an ipad and not get robbed haha, so i`d be super surprised if that happens. that`s crazy you guys got a huge storm though. it`s been pretty rainy down here lately too. for about 2 days straight it just constantly rained and never let up. it makes it kinda cold when the sun doesn`t come out for so long haha.

well, i`m afraid i don`t have really anything too exciting this week. so yeah we had that weird emergency change, and it`s been ok i guess, but it makes me really uncertain about the future, which i know is bad, but i can`t help but think about it. i really don`t want to leave this place, i`m starting to get so sad. i`m having really mixed feelings about everything right now. it`s crazy cause i`m leaving soon, like 6 to 7 weeks, and so i want to spend time with the people i know cause i`m gonna miss them and i`ve really come to love them and it`s hard thinking that i might not see them again, but at the same time since my time is winding down and i`ll never have another chance to do this work i want to finish strong in that sense, just working hard. i don`t know. i`m like sad, excited, depressed, happy, everything all at the same time haha.

so i don`t know if they`re gonna change me or leave me or what. i know they`re gonna do something weird and combine these 2 zones, and so i know i`m not gonna be zone leader, and i don`t really care what happens, just so long as i stay here. things are fine with my comp, he`s a little different honestly, but i`ve learned to get along with just about everyone haha. i was a little bum and got mad at everyone before the mission, but i`ve learned a lot about patience and love and have grown up a lot. of course there are things he does that bugs me, but it`s not that important anymore. he has a good spirit, and the whole knife threat was just cause both were being little girls, so it`s all good. changes are next week, the 18th, and i know, or am pretty sure he`ll be leaving, but then i don`t know what`s gonna happen. i know like you said last week that the Lord will take care of it all, and i know it`s true, but i`m still hoping and praying i stay.

we`re working hard with 2 people right now. i`ve gone awhile without any baptisms so that`s sad, but we have 2 that seem pretty positive. hermano nelson is really cool. he really is interested and wants to learn a lot, but we`re having a hard time getting him to really pray and focus on the spiritual part of everything instead of just the knowledge. hermana velgica is cool as well, she`s really receptive and likes having us over, but as well is struggling a little bit just on doing her part of reading and praying. not that that`s new or anything, but they still seem cool, so i have high hopes for them.

let`s see, things are good, overall i`m happy, i don`t really have any complaints. i honestly cannot believe how little time i have left, i have no idea where time has gone. i hope everyone is well, happy, healthy, doing what they`re supposed to, and i hope this week is one of the best! thanks for everything you do!

much love,

elder paskett
